WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Technical Writer writes and/or edits technical documents, including business proposals, reports, manuals, briefings and presentations, guidelines, and other project deliverables to meet contract requirements by collaborating with subject matter experts (SME). Reviews and edits documents developed by others to ensure accuracy and quality of content, organization, language, format consistency, and conformance with established standards.
ABOUT YOU:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Education, technical program, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.
- Experience disseminating sophisticated or technical concepts in written format.
- Experience working ongoing, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
- Problem-solving/decision-making skills.
- Ability to outline, write, and edit technical papers and documentation.
- Proficiency with desktop software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- A task based/schedule driven mindset.
- Ability to meet schedule timelines.
- Ability to work independently and multi-task.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in adult learning/training is a bonus.
- Possess experience with Oxygen, Arbortext, or MapCap Flare.
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite.
- Know CMMI or other business methodology of process improvements standards.
- Understand Agile Scrum/Kanban project management.
- Comprehend Performance Work Statements (PWS) Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs or DD FORM 1423), Data Item Descriptions (DIDs).
- Familiar with Department of Defense (DoD) military standards, rules, and regulations as they pertain to project management, documentation deliverables, government contracts, and project execution.
- Strong computer software skills and the ability to adapt to new software/enterprise tools easily.
