Bemana is searching for a Technical Writer to join a team that has installed power generation projects across the globe. Our client aims to electrify Indian Country, provide reliable and affordable alternatives to the big utilities, and promote the use of green technologies.

The Technical Writer is responsible for creating, editing, and managing comprehensive documentation that serves as an essential resource throughout project development and implementation lifecycles, including but not limited to: client project proposals, Request for Proposal (RFP) responses, operations and maintenance manuals, and technical training material.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Research, write, edit, and format proposal documents, including executive summaries, technical sections, and supporting materials.
  • Thoroughly review and analyze RFPs to understand client requirements and ensure compliance.
  • Create and maintain requirements matrices to track and ensure all RFP requirements are addressed in the proposal.
  • Develop clear, concise, and detailed technical documents, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), operations and maintenance manuals, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Simplify complex processes into user-friendly guides, providing step-by-step instructions to help users navigate tasks effortlessly.
  • Write, edit, and format training manuals, guides, and e-learning content, by breaking down complicated information into manageable parts.
  • Analyze and document processes, develop forms and templates.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers to incorporate visuals, charts, and diagrams that enhance documentation impact.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally.

Experience:

  • Minimum two (2) years of technical writing experience is required.
  • Experience in the energy industry or similar field is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to convey them clearly.
  • Strong ability to work with teams (engineers, operators, managers, etc.) to gather information and clarify technical details.
  • Expertise in creating user guides, how-to manuals, API documentation, troubleshooting guides, and process documentations that comply with industry-specific regulatory standards.
  • Knowledge of technical documentation standards (IEEE, ISO, API, OSHA).
  • Experience creating or incorporating diagrams, flowcharts, and technical visuals (Visio, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro required, expert level preferred in Microsoft Word.
