Position Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, updating, and managing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for our beverage plant. Your work will be key in enhancing operational efficiency, ensuring workplace safety, and maintaining compliance with industry standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for various processes within the beverage plant.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather accurate and relevant information.
  • Ensure all SOPs are clear, concise, and user-friendly for employees at all levels.
  • Organize and maintain a comprehensive, easily accessible SOP library for staff reference.
  • Conduct regular reviews and updates of SOPs to align with changes in processes, equipment, or regulations.
  • Collaborate on the development and implementation of 5S initiatives to enhance workplace organization and efficiency.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on the use and application of SOPs.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance and Operations teams to identify and address areas for improvement.

Job Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, or a related field.

 Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer, ideally in the manufacturing or beverage industry.
  • Solid expertise in developing and documenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards (e.g., FDA, HACCP) is preferred.

 Language Skills:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, listening, and comprehending English.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail paired with excellent organizational skills.
  • Bilingual proficiency is a plus.

 Other Abilities:

  • Capable of performing effectively under time constraints and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong ability to collaborate across departments and work cross-functionally.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent attention to detail.
  • Skilled in working independently and as part of a team in a cross-functional environment.

Working and Environmental Conditions 

The position requires occasional work in a wet refrigerated manufacturing facility with temperatures below 40°F. Additionally, tasks may occasionally be performed in a dry warehouse environment with temperatures reaching up to 85°F and/or occasional exposure to freezer warehouse conditions at –10°F. Work areas may be tight and will require continuous exposure to noisy environments exceeding 85 dBA. Strict adherence to safety protocols is mandatory, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, ear protection, and steel-toed shoes.

Physical Demands 
Must be able to stand or walk for the entirety of the shift. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time to perform desk work using a computer. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs with continuous motion. Must be able to navigate manufacturing equipment and facilities including repetitive bending, kneeling, reaching over head with both arms, stooping, squatting, and twisting. Must be able to climb ladders and stairs and work at heights when needed. Occasional exposure to moving machinery. Must be able to pass a fit-for-duty physical exam.

Compensation

$32 - $35/HR DOE
