Job Title: Senior-Level Technical Writer

Location: Onsite - Redmond, WA (At least 3 days onsite/week)

Duration/Start Date: 2/10/2025

Salary Range: $52 - $57 hourly

Candidates with previous experience working at Microsoft Corporation, either as a full-time employee (FTE) or contractor, are strongly preferred.

Role Summary:

The main function of a Technical Writer is to write technical materials, such as equipment materials, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions. A typical technical writer is responsible for organizing, editing and maintaining technical records and files.

Responsibilities:

• Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology
• Maintain records and files of work and revisions
• Confer with client to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication

Qualifications:

• 8-10 overall years of experience in the field

Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience

1. Technical writing experience - 8+ YOE
2. Ability to write persona documents - 7+ YOE
3. Legal writing experience - 1+ YOE (does not need to have a ton of experience in this, but would need knowledge in this area)
